No, but it needs to be built for it. Shaded lots along the river and out in the wooded parts of the county hold moisture longer, which means algae on the boards and slower drying underneath. We open up the board gaps, keep air moving under the deck, steer you toward materials that handle damp, and set you up with a simple yearly wash. That's usually all it takes.
